Hi all;
Suppose due to some considerations not wanting to define Sender/Receiver channels , Is it possible and applicable to use MQClient connection from within a message flow to local queue hosted in an external queue manager? Does the available MQ components support this type of connection?

In IIB10 MQINPUT, MQGET, MQOUTPUT nodes will support this type of behavior.

Have fun

Using a direct client connection does tightly couple the flow to the other QM rather than allowing the local QM to act as store/forward.

So if you have a local QM for the broker, it would be better to route MQ traffic through that.

To add to what zpat wrote, by tightly coupling your flow to an external QM you are greatly restricting the flexibility of your design.

If that remote QM goes down then your flow fails.

Scaling your flow becomes much harder.

Load balancing and fail over are not available.

You say you are restricted from making channel connections so make sure you point out the limitations (and the three above are just the tip of the iceberg) of that choice. Sometimes people make design decisions because they think something seems hard or a pain to do without realizing the consequences of those decisions down the road.
