hi, is there any Java code or general Text file comparison tool is there which ignores the whitespaces. I am having multiple files to compare, they seems identical except whitespaces difference in them and due to that I have to go line by line to see if there is any other differences but only difference is whitespaces, can some tool ignore it completely? all kind of whitespaces, tabs etc.

There is VisualDiff (for Windows). It is old but works fine. It was release as free software. The company is gone but you can download it from http://www.capitalware.com/pc_win_dev_find_compare.html

For java code, Eclipse can format both peices of code, to have the same whitespace. You can then compare them.

For plain text files, you can use Eclipse's find/replace to convert spaces to tabs, or the other way around or convert n spaces to m spaces, and then use the compare function.

But you can also simply tell the compare to ignore whitespace.

You probably already have Eclipse in use.
