At my workplace we are upgrading from MQ 7.5.0.3 to 7.5.0.7. (I know we are laggards) Not a big jump but still any MQ upgrade makes me uneasy.

Already did DEV and I haven't seen any issues. Moving to PROD next week. Just wondering if anybody has done something similar and if they found any issues, particularly performance-wise.

Thank you kindly

These days I would have suggested you upgrade to 8.0.0.7 ...

Did you review the APAR list for FixPacks 4, 5, 6, 7 ?

I would have thought it unlikely to be performance issues since no new function. However make sure you test your SSL/TLS connections carefully to ensure all the ciphers etc are still supported.

Thanks for the input guys. we do review APARs as part of our upgrade process but mainly rely on our application vendor to let us know what version will they certify and support. I'll ask my MQ admin for SSL/TLS connectivity tests results. I'd like to jump to 8.0.0.6 (last version certified by our vendor) but we would need to upgrade RHEL to 6.x which in turn needs to wait for our hardware refresh project.

If you need to upgrade RHEL, upgrade it to 7.x, as this is the minimum value for MQ9. By the way I believe that 9.0.0.1 is finally out...

@fjb_saper. That's a really good point. We might as well go directly to 7 when it's time to upgrade to 8.0.0.6 (and eventually 9). Things to add to our roadmap

BTW, we had to put off our change. There were some competing priorities as the teams got sucked by this Ransomware thing ...
