Aren't most Linux Distro's 64bit now? I know that some have dropped 32bit on Intel.
I haven't used a 32bit distro for over 5 years and never had issues.
I use CentOS and it has i686 packages and X64 packages in its repository. That allowed things like MQExplorer to work as it needed 32bit libraries even if the platform OS was 64bit.
The same goes for IIB. If some bits need 32bit libraries then the installation guide will tell you.. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.
