Hello, this might sounds a newbie question, which is.

One of our MQclient application will be moved to the cloud. Since we cannot allow MQClient in the cloud to call our qmgr directly, I wonder if it is possible to use DataPower as gateway to forward MQClient calls to qmgrs through the DMZ.

Apparently I need to learn Datapower, just want to get a yes/no to see which way we should proceed.

thanks much for any advice.

Have you thought about using MS81 (MQIPT) ?
Although DP can get and put messages to MQ, it will not to my knowledge act as a gateway to MQ. You might use it like a firewall though...

I thought MQIPT is obsolete. Will look into it.

-many thanks.

I thought a multi-protocol gateway could do this? but maybe I'm wrong.

I don't know if DP can accept incoming MQ client connections.

That is, I don't really know DP.

DataPower cannot accept MQ Client connections from other systems. It is not a queue manager. It is not MQIPT. It is an MQ Client itself.

MQIPT is fully supported by IBM and current.
