It is of course coincidental that the Canadian immigration site crashed on the night of the election. Some kind of DDoS attack probably.....

You can fly in a plane from Toronto to Heathrow without changing planes nor with the plane ceasing to fly other than at the journey endpoints (except in highly distressing circumstances) _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

What kind of world do we live in where people are thrown unprepared into the deep end of the technological pool and the ones that can't swim are expected to be fished out by random volunteer strangers? |
One view is that this is a test of how good ppl are at adapting to new situations, and hence their potential value to the organization as being multi-talented. Even the smartest ppl will reach out to use any resources that are available, including mqseries.net. Ppl who can't cope with the intellectual stress tend to fall off the tree, to be taken over by those who are more capable. Time spent guiding and assisting an OP (the teaching to fish analogy) is more productive that whinging about apparent lack of training or management support. _________________ Glenn |

In otherwords, quit grumbling, roll up your sleeves and get on with it.
make the best you can out of the situation
and in those free seconds
update your CV.
Who knows eh? You might become the local subject matter expert and able to teach those stubborn Unix/Linux admins a thing or two.
