There is nothing 'special' about the dead letter queue, it is just a normal local queue. Any program that can browse or get messages from a queue should be able to show you the contents. However, as Bruce suggests, if you are wanting to process the messages appearing there then you should configure a dead letter handler.

However the messages on the DLQ will usually have a special header (the DLH).

You will normally want to remove this header before re-processing the message in an application.

The DLQ hander can do this, or various MQ utilities can remove this header.

Well, I don't think there is any question about it. It can only be attributable to human error. This sort of thing has cropped up before, and it has always been due to human error.
