We just upgraded from MQ 701 to MQ V8. The chlauth is disabled for now because we did not want the upgrade to impact production. Of course we like to enable it in production as soon as we can. We have a few svrconn channel that has a blank MCAUSER field. These channel has been there for years and are used by some legacy application which no one remember the details.
The bottom line is whatever we do should have no impact to production. I want to find out what are the userIds using these channel so that I can have the proper rule in place before I enable chlauth.
Is there any easy way to do this in V8 ? The OS is Linux opensuse.

If the MCAUSER is blank, then either the applications are actually passing in their own userid (unlikely unless they are c programs), or they are running as mqm.

If you don't want to impact production, you need to verify your setup in test.

There should be a reasonable amount of discussion elsewhere on this site ab out finding the user for a given channel.. the search should help.

Set the CHLAUTH records you intend to use with WARN(YES). Monitor the results and see what would have been refused.

You might also want to temporarily enable security events on the queue manager for a fuller view.

Thanks. I think warn(yes) is the way to go. I'll test that in Non-prod first.
