MQ allows you to do a local or XA transaction with a queue - and roll back the message onto the queue if your processing fails.
The backout count is the number of times that a message should be tried before it is moved to a backout queue.
But there are several conditions and setup that need to occur before the backout count will be used. It's not an automatic function of all programs using MQ - each program needs to use logic to handle this by checking the backout count on a message, and using the backout queue to move the message out so it won't get tried any more. _________________ chmod -R ugo-wx /
