Right, and actually, amqsput and amqsget are also samples, and are already in the same bin folder as amqsbcg.
And I guess that bin folder is now on the path.
So. I guess I'm not sure what Morag's point was.

My point was that amqsput and amqsget (but not amqsbcg) are in the main bin folder - along with things like strmqm. It has nothing to do with whether the source code is provided for them or not, but simply a decision about which "samples" were handy enough to be used regularly and thus should be in the main bin folder and on therefore in the path.
I would have preferred ALL samples to be available in the path, not just a select few. But certainly amqsbcg should be.

Ah! I didn't think to look in the main bin folder. I was looking in the samples/bin folder.
Yes, I agree. amqsbcg should be there if amqsput and amqsget are there...
Perhaps someone should open an RFE... 
It would probably be frowned upon if I opened a defect.

A bit off topic....
Another weirdness is that MFT commands (fteXXXXX) are in MQ's bin directory on Windows, so they run at a command prompt without any changes to PATH or need to specify the directory, however on UNIX the MFT fte commands are not linked into /usr/bin (like all the other MQ commands), and so they need to be run with the MQ install bin directory prefix, or you need to add the mqm/bin directory (for the desired installation instance) to the PATH environment variable.

Excuse me for not having a Unix system at hand to check but would modifying the path not be accomplished by sourcing the setmqenv script?
