Hi all,

sorry for delay. Thank for responce! Special thank to Morag.
we try to start the second migration in the next week.

For this migration we edit follow linies in /var/mqm/qmgrs/QM!C000052/qm.ini:

CHANNELS:
MaxChannels=3000
MaxActiveChannels=3000

We remove in /var/mqm/mqs.ini the lines we have added.

Best Regards
F. Nickel

I copy /var/mqm/mqs.ini to /var/mqm/qm.ini
For now we have mqs.ini and qm.ini with the same content under /var/mqm. Should the files look differnt?

You are playing with fire and appear to have no understanding of what these files do. As Morag pointed out, they have different layout & purpose. /var/mqm should only ever contain a mqs.ini. The queue managers directory should only ever contain a qm.ini. The max channel settings are per queue manager, so they are in qm.ini.

The mqs.ini file is installed when you install the MQ product. The mqs.ini file is used by the crtmqm process (or equivalent) as the template to populate the mq.ini file when a new qmgr is created. You do not need to manually copy/move/create the mq.ini file.

The best-practice is to leave the mqs.ini file unchanged from the factory, and modify the mq.ini file as necessary to meet local requirements.

If this is a test environment, I strongly suggest that you uninstall and reinstall IMQ, and then create new qmgr following the well-documented instructions.
