Greetings all! The IBM MQ for z/OS V8 Wildfire workshops have been scheduled thru May now. We've added a lot of content, and because of the use of Rational D&T (what we call zPDT) we have been able to add a number of labs we could not do in a shared environment. Security labs, where when we tried before we found that there were times when people inadvertently (or so they said!) stepped on another user or locked everyone out of a queue manager. Build your own queue manager lab, because each person has their own z/OS. Additional labs on new and changed features are being added as well. The downside to the RD&T image is that we do not have a CF, so cannot have shared queue labs. We will resume those when our 'plex is restored, and keep the individual image so that both shared and individual labs can be run.

The locations and dates we have so far are:
Raleigh, NC - March 8-10
Phoenix, Az - March 22-24
Costa Mesa, CA - April 5-7
McLean, VA - April 12-14
Jacksonville, FL - April 26-28
N a s h v i l l e, TN - May 10-12
Camp Hill, PA - May 24-26

To enroll or request more information, please contact your local IBM technical sales representative. If you are unsure of who that is, if you are located east of the Mississippi please contact Shalawn King (shalawn@us.ibm.com). If you are in the west, please contact Chris Griego (cgriego@us.ibm.com) or Ron Fortin (rfortin@us.ibm.com). If all else fails contact Mitch Johnson (mitchj@us.ibm.com) and me (elkinsc@us.ibm.com).

Thanks!
Lyn

Hi readers,

We've gotten requests for an IMQ08 session in Jacksonville, Fl several times over the past few years, but so far only 4 people have signed up for the scheduled session on April 26-28. We will be forced to cancel this Thursday (April 14) if we do not have at least 10 people signed up. If you are in the Jacksonville FL area, and are interested in attending, please contact Shalawn King (shalawn@us.ibm.com) to get signed up.

Thanks
Lyn
