Hi all,

I need to implement some features which I want to release to other development teams but don't want them to change this features code/subflows/etc. So, after reading some articles about possible solutions, I realized that a good solution was to create User Defined Nodes for this features and have them available on nodes palette to other developers.

I've already implemented a User Defined Node which contains only a single msgflow, packaged it and deployed on dropins folder. Everything ok BUT node is only listed at palette when I'm editing a msgflow. I want to use this node inside other subflows.

From what I've read, I think this is not possible, because:
1. msgflows can only be placed inside other msgflows
2. user defined node doesn't allow to include subflows inside (only msgflows)

So, ist there a solution to create User Defined Nodes to be used inside subflows? Or this is just an IIB limitation?

How can I protect my features implementation from being edited without using User Defined Nodes?

(I'm using IIB v10)

Thanks for your help.

Regards,
Benjamim

I would write a static library (https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSMKHH_10.0.0/com.ibm.etools.mft.doc/bc23066_.htm) and tell my team not to change stuff around because, in QA and Production environments, I would deploy my version of the library. If you're using source control, set it up so only you can modify that "module" / repository.

Thanks for your reply juandelcid. In this case, it's not enough because there are multiple development teams and I don't have control over all. But want to release some features that may remain the same (not editable neither changed by no one) to those teams.

Was waiting for more replies but seems this is really a tricky subject, as I didn't find any possible way to do it on the knowledge base and no answers about being possible.

May I have to look to another way or technology to accomplish this objective :\

Thanks
