In one of our preprod env the IIB broker(RUCTRNBRKR) is not starting.
Hosted on Linux. here is the activity which i tried to do:
[mqm@PreProd1 ~]$ mqsilist
BIP1285I: Broker 'RUCTRNBRKR' on queue manager 'RUCTRNQM' is stopped.
BIP1284I: Broker 'RUCMIGBRKR' on queue manager 'RUCMIGQM' is running.
BIP1284I: Broker 'RUCBRKR' on queue manager 'RUCQM' is running.
BIP8071I: Successful command completion.
[mqm@PreProd1 ~]$ mqsistart RUCTRNBRKR
BIP8096I: Successful command initiation, check the system log to ensure that the component started without problem and that it continues to run without problem.
[mqm@PreProd1 ~]$ ps -ef | grep RUCTRNBRKR
mqm 37763 1 0 04:04 ? 00:00:00 bipservice RUCTRNBRKR
mqm 37768 37763 0 04:04 ? 00:00:01 bipbroker RUCTRNBRKR
mqm 37826 37768 0 04:04 ? 00:00:00 biphttplistener RUCTRNBRKR
mqm 38485 37229 0 04:12 pts/2 00:00:00 grep RUCTRNBRKR
Later I went to and checked /var/log/messages log and find the following Log entries:
Jul 3 04:04:31 PreProd1 IIB[37768]: IBM Integration Bus v9002 (RUCTRNBRKR) [Thread 37768] (Msg 1/1) BIP2866I: IBM Integration Bus administration security is inactive.
Jul 3 04:04:32 PreProd1 IIB[37768]: IBM Integration Bus v9002 (RUCTRNBRKR) [Thread 37768] (Msg 1/1) BIP2156E: Web user interface did not initialize because the listening port '4414' could not be started.
I have restarted the broker many times. further i have deleted and created the QMgr and Broker many times but still the broker status showing as :
Broker 'RUCTRNBRKR' on queue manager 'RUCTRNQM' is stopped.
You might want to disable web administration? Or make sure that port 4414 is available...
Also start the broker with a service trace and supply that to IBM with a PMR.

Further to whay my esteemed colleague (so much better term that the PC co-worker IMHO) has said,
Did you specifically set the web admin ports for your other brokers?
What does a netstat command output show? Are all the ports that you have specifically requested for the broker free?
What sort of messages about the broker in question are in the system event log? _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.
