Hi,
I would like to monitoring or creating new objects on different servers(windows2000) by using my workstation(windows200).I saw one option at the time of creating queue manager by using mq explorer that is "create server connection to allow remote administration of the queue manager over TCP/IP." if i select this option am i connect to remote queue manager or is there any other options.
What exactly i want is on my mqexplorer able to connect queue managers->show queue managers->show a remote queue manager and do some operations on the server.I have some time to do this that's why i am asking you.
guide me..
Thanks,
Venkat

Venkat,
I would recommend using Kolban's "MQJExplorer" which in my opinion is far superior to MQExplorer, and gives you the ability to manage multiple remote queue managers very easily. The link to his site is:
http://www.kolban.com/mqjexplorer

And there have been some lengthy discussions here about his tool, so just do a search on "MQJExplorer" to find more information. Hope this helps...

Hi,
I created a queue manager with the option "create server connection to allow remote administration of the queue manager over TCP/IP." and doing remote administration. My question is how can i prevent this remote administration from others.all are accessing even if they are not in mqm group of that remote queue manager server.but we are in the same network.
thanks,
venkat

See the following ... I haven't formally released this but will be willing to release what is needed to you for testing. I'd like to work directly with you to give you what's needed.

Hi,
I created a queue manager and define in properties(connection information) Local/remote attribute as remote. Is it possible to change that attribute as local?
I don't want to allow others to connect to this queue manager.
if so tell me the way.
Thanks,
Venkat
