Perhaps everybody else knew this but, I just found (via Google of course) that in the Eclipse editor (IIB Toolkit or MQSC editor plug-in for MQ Explorer for example), you can block mark text and copy, move or delete it. Also add stuff in a column just like NotePad++ and UltraEdit to name a few editors that do this.

Alt+Shift+A to turn on block marking. Then move the cursor with the Shift+Arrow key.
Alt+Shift+A to toggle it back off.

This feature was the main reason I used other editors.

Just sharing in a spot where I think people might appreciate this info.

This is a genuinely useful tip. Thanks for sharing!

In case it helps, sometimes this is called 'column marking'. It's really useful for (re)moving a rectangular block of text from a list of text records.

I've tested it in MQ Explorer on Windows and RHEL 7.5 (which was interesting to install the plug-in). Haven't got to IIB Toolkit yet. I have a Workstation refresh that I'm building out...
