A new post by Anthony Beardsmore explaining the right way to move a Full Repository.

Step 3 should say, "fully interconnect the FRs and new FR want-a-be before promoting the new FR".

When going through the whole moving FR process, the only part I find slightly daunting is when going through the cleanup phase at the end and deleting the now unused CLUSSDRB channels pointing to the old FR qmgrs.

As they can't be deleted while running, you need to stop them first (which I usually do with MODE(FORCE)) and then quickly delete them and start them manually again, hoping that any messages won't be waiting on the XMITQ's and timing out while the stop/delete/start is happening, even though it only takes 1-2 seconds.

You should not have to do that.
Correctly remove first the old FR qmgrs from the cluster and the corresponding CLUSSDRB channel should stop by itself...
Besides if your qmgr is an FR qmgr with no dataqueues or routing queues you should only see the CLUSSDRA running...(name resolution)

Yeah the problem is when the old FR is also hosting application queues.. in that case the channel obviously never stops as transactions are still flowing through and you do need to manually stop the channel.

Just shows the advantages of having a dedicated FR!
