If I remember rightly we covered the history of MQ (at least to some extent) at the 10 year and 20 years celebrations. I think 20 years was last year wasn't it ? Which, presumably means MQ is 21 this year. Does that mean it can, at long last, legally drink in the US ?

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.

I am not sure if history is best told with alcohol involved, but it sounds good to me!

I learn every day here. I thought, if you were of legal drinking age, you were allowed to drink, even in a "dry" county. What you're not allowed to, in a "dry" county is to sell alcohol, regardless of age, (the seller's or the buyer's).

Don't know as to how the law stands as to private possession of alcohol in "dry" county... (wine for the dinner table, a bottle of scotch at home) ??

Can somebody confirm?

Paul - If you have any links to that history, I would be interested in reading it. I did some quick internet searches, and did not find too much on MQ history.

That is my understanding, as well, that you can still consume alcohol (if you are the legal age) in a dry county. I believe this was even true during Prohibition during the 1920s-1930s in the US. You just couldn't manufacture, sale, or transport alcohol (which does make it kind of hard to consume it!)

P.S. - I am probably being obtuse, but I can't figure out how to do that thing where it says "Person Wrote" in a special format. I've just figured out the quote part. I looked around a little on the site, and did not find any doc on it, either. If someone can point that out to me, I would appreciate it.

Ok, that was embarrassing. Let's try that again:

Push the "Quote" button on a post. It will demonstrate how a person's name is added using the quote="<desired name>" format.

All,

I've updated the speaker list and added Glen Brumbaugh of Prolifics. He's offered to do 3 sessions.

All,

Based on the poll results (and Paul's input), Paul will be doing the following sessions at MQTC:

- Keeping MQ Channels Up and Running
- MQ Clients
- MQ Triggering

Robert Broderick also gave me his session list today and he will be doing:

- High Availability Option for MQ
- Integration Bus Overview
- WLM and Policy in Integration Bus

I have updated MQTC's web site http://www.mqtechconference.com/
