You got it right bruce.. That's the exact reason for this approach. I need to start processing the same message in case of interruption.

All the messages are browsed and stored in an internal queue. Post-crash it may happen that there are more messages that landed in the MQ during crash. In such a case how will I browse the same message that I was processing before crash as this may not be the first message on the queue that i started processing since an internal priority is being assigned?

So, you are saying you need to process the msgs via a priority but not use the WMQ msg priority mechanism?

Because the application is determining the priority based on msg content?
