Other than posting here, what research have you done on this?

There's no reason to expect that anyone here will do that research for you. We're all busy. Why should we do the work for you? Do the needful for yourself.

Nobody can answer the question in the way you have asked it.

If you provide further *context* around the question, like "My manager has said they're bringing in a consultant to do an MQ Healthcheck. What does that mean?", then you might get some answers.

If you don't know what a healthcheck is, then a) you should not allow anyone to tell you that you should perform one, b) you should not get in the way of anyone performing one, and should provide them with all of the answers you are asked to give.

We are volunteers here. Our expectation is that those who post questions here will have done something to answer their own questions before they post.

In this instance we need to understand what you already know, what your experience is, ...

Do you know what WMQ is and does?

One last thought: scolding those to whom you come for help will not improve your chances of getting that help.

We're not a training resource, for good and sufficient reason.

What we are is a technical forum for working professionals, to answer technical questions from technical people.

How about you don't post in the first place?

Yes you have. Rather than do the research or work, you've asked us for the answer to be handed to you.

Speaking personally I don't care if you respect me or not.

No. Keep asking simplistic questions and I'll moderate you myself.

I read this statement to mean that you want to know the subject with little or no effort on your part. Learning a new subject usually requires study, research, and experimentation. There is no shortcut.

I suggest you begin by searching google for 'learn webshpere mq'. Search results will include introductory (primer) books, and courses offered by IBM and its Global Training Providers.

The IBM Education Center is a good online resource with audio/visual presentations.

'It depends" - on who you ask. For some it is a cursory look at the way a queue manager is configured. For others it is a detailed analysis of every aspect of a queue managers use, including the data flowing thru the queue manager. It can be anywhere in between.
"It depends" - on the platform. z/OS, AIX, i Series, etc.
"It depends" - on the breadth of the project definition. Does it include queue mangers on different platforms? Does it include looking into specific questions/issues? Does it include examining the underlying resources (physical space, network configuration, etc.)?
"It depends" - on who is performing the health check. For some a health check is simply 'is it currently running?', for others 'is it running optimally?'.
"It depends" - on why it is being done. Is the check part of a root cause analysis after a failure of some sort? Is the health check being done as part of capacity planning for a new application or workload? Is the check being done as part of routine maintenance, like and annual physical?
"It depends" - on your budget.
There have been a number of definitions of what a health check for WebSphere MQ includes/excludes and the traditional response applies.
