Our company has switched from Windows XP to Windows 7 Enterprise OS on our laptops.

I have successfully installed MQ v7.5.

After installing Buildtime (v3.6.0.90), the MQ Workflow Confiugration Utility attempts to start but gets the following error:

FMC33969E The path 'c:\program files (x86)\ibm\websphere mq workflow(string of special characters)\cfgs' cannot be accessed

The string of special characters is different everytime the message displays.

The directory looks good when viewed in Windows Explorer.

After Buildtime installation, registry was not updated. Updated it manually. Still get above error when opening Configuration Utility after changing registry.

After installing Buildtime, tried to installed Web Client and Java API but could not becuase it displayed this error message:

FMC36255E Unable to create directory C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\Websphere MQ Workflow (string of speical characters)\BIN

The rollout to Win 7 Enterprise is a slow roll, so my other teammates have NOT received their laptops, so they are unable to atempt to install Worflow components in order to help me or to see if they have the same issue.

Has anyone else had this type of issue or knows how to resolve it?

Have you read the instructions on 3.22 in the readme?

Quote:
Starting with IBM WebSphere MQ Workflow 3.6 SP9,
you can use Microsoft Windows 7 Professional and Microsoft Windows Server 2008.

If you want to use Microsoft Windows 7 Professional or Microsoft Windows Server 2008 you need
to retrieve a full install image of IBM WebSphere MQ Workflow 3.6 SP9 and follow the install
instructions in Readme.1st.

In general, I never use C:\Program Files.... to install ANY product - although it is the default on Windows.

Thank you.

I will try it and see what happens.

No, I did not read the readme.txt. Someone on another team installed it on a test laptop several months ago before the rollout started and reported 2 issues, but neither of the issues corresponded to my issue or the issue/resolution you suppplied.

Thanks again.

In addition you may also want to contact IBM Support to hear their opinion.
