To all:
We have recently added some new files into our FTE environment, and they are time-sensitive. We have allowed exceptions to this time sensitivity in the case of a network failure (we're sending files from corporate servers to individual stores, so network failures are common), but every now and then, a file will fail to be sent because the file is "Currently in use or locked". This happens when the FTE polling interval (every 10 minutes) happens to coincide with the file being written to the monitored directory. Unfortunately on these occaisions, the file goes into a "Failed" status and nothing else happens.
Is there a way to make FTE retry to send these files once they have been completely written to the monitoring directory? The files are small, and this situation doesn't happen very often (once every 2 weeks, maybe...), but these files are extremely important for the stores to function, and an automated retry seems to be the obvious solution.
We're currently using FTE Version 7.0.2.0 in a Windows environment. If this situation has been addressed in a later version, we'll look into upgrading immediately (which I'd like to do anyway, with some of the added EXPLORER functionality), if not, we can start looking at other possible solutions.

Thanks!

Hi,

You may want to look at our product mqattach (google it) which has some unique functions do deal with this and other use cases unique to an fte implementation, and if it doesn't we could simply write a module that deals with a particular use case and add it to the product

You can find more info at our website www mqattach dot com
