You can't create a cluster. You can create individual queue managers, each with individual ccsid, and link them together to form a cluster. So you can't create "the" cluster with "the" ccsid; there will be as many ccsids are there are queue managers participating in the cluster.

As indicated in your other thread, the requirement is for all queue managers participating in the cluster to be able to communicate. This means they must either use a common, full coverage ccsid (like UTF-8 ) or have the ability to convert messages in an alien code page into their own.

So there's not a problem with Redhat per se, nor is 819 the "magic" code page which queue managers must use if they want to participate in a cluster.

Nor does any of this have anything to do with whatever ccsid is used for any message that's put by you or an application into a cluster queue. That's a separate but related question.

It's unusual to have a cluster called FR.

But the concept is valid. Unless the queue manager is an FR for more than one cluster in which case it's REPOSNL.

REPOS(FR) tells us that this qmgr is a full repository for cluster whose name is FR.

You might be equally confused if you altered the REPOS qmgr attribute to be a full repos for a cluster named PR.
