Rita Technology Services, a Florida based IT Search & Consulting firm has an immediate need for an experienced WebSphere MQ (MQSeries) Administrator to work on-site in Lakeland, FL. Local candidates are preferred. If not local, candidates must be able to come to Lakeland, FL for a face-to-face interview!
Duration: 6 months
Location: Lakeland, FL
Start date: ASAP
Status: W2 hourly or salary
We need a mid-to-senior level (5 to 7 years) MQ Series (WebSphere MQ) Administrator. The Consultant will be responsible for two duties, one, keep MQ up and running and secondly to assist with a migration from version 6 to 7. Candidates must have experience with MQ version 6 and we would strongly prefer that they have worked with v 7. We are running this on a LINUX platform and would like candidates to have the LINUX experience but it is not required. The Consultant needs to be able to troubleshoot and solve problems independently, there will not be an SME for assistance, they will need to own MQ Series.
Requires advanced experience in the following skill sets:
•Subject matter expert in MQ Series running point-to-point configurations, publish and subscribe deployments, and working with enhanced security and encryption.
•Must have experience working in application environments, with previous roles as WebSphere MQ administrator in an environment with non-stop operations, scale-out, and multi-site configurations.
•Experienced with applying industry standard release and configuration management techniques for enterprise applications, with focus on build automation, validation, and scripting.
•Excellent Verbal and written communication.
Requires working experience in the following skills sets:
•Linux administration; using middleware technologies on this platform.
•Experience working with virtual technologies.
•Proven experience and abilities working in Java or SOA environments, using technologies such as WAS, ESB, and DataPower experience a plus.
The day-to-day duties for this person will include writing all the build functions, troubleshooting any problems, working with a multi-site distribution environment and keep the systems running. You will also assist with an upgrade to version 7. Most of the design specs have been written so there is a map in place for the upgrade but will still rely heavily on this person for SME assistance.
Candidates MUST be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.
Note: The applicant selected for this position will be required to successfully pass a background check, and a drug test prior to start date.
