Hi,

For the monitoring need to monitor the MSGAGE, we need to turn the Queue Monitoring ON at QMgr level.

As per the information in infocenter, it appears that: -
Note that, in contrast to MONCHL, there is no distinction between the values LOW, MEDIUM and HIGH for MONQ. These values all turn data collection on, but do not affect the rate of collection.

Is this statement correct? Do all the levels behaving exactly in same manner and has same amount of Monitoring data generated. If yes, then why is that multiple levels are defined?

Also, what kind of affect does this monitoring may have on the QMgr performance?

Because in some future version of WMQ it will do something different? Someone thought it was important to have consistency with MONCHL? Someone thought to use the same command interface as MONCHL?

Why exactly do you care? What impact does it have on you?

The effect being discussed in the thread referenced by my most worthy associate.
