Hi experts:
I have configured two channel in MQSeries. One receiver channel (RCVR) and a sender channel (SDR), but when I try to start both channels only the remote channel is able to start.
In the error files, I don´t see any error message related to that event.
Is there any place in the software where you can configure the numbre of channels?. The software is MQSeries v.5.2 on a HP-UX server.
Thank you.

Normally when you issue the start channel command there will be entires in the most recently updated error file. Location

/var/mqm/qmgrs/[qmgr name]/errors.

Are the channel names the same for both source and target qmgrs?
Does the conname attribute include the port of the target queue manager?

You can configure the maximum number of channels in qm.ini

In the channels stanza the MAXCHANNELS attribute can be set. I belieze the default is 100.

CHANNELS:
MAXCHANNELS=x

Are you trying to start both the sender and receiver channel. If so, then what you are seeing is correct. You can only start the sending side of a connection.

If you are starting the sender on this machine and the sender on another machine that connects to the receiver channel, then look at the logs on both sides of the non-starting channel for the problem.

Cheers.

Thank you:

The problem is solved. The receiver channel was started in the server that had the complementary sender channel.
