Welcome to the MQSeries.net Community for WebSphere Message Broker Patterns!
Do you have a message flow that does something cool? Perhaps a piece of reusable technology or a common component (such as one that provides logging or error handling) that you think other people would appreciate?
Or perhaps you have a way of doing something in Broker that's unique, or represents "best practice"?
Why not turn it into a pattern and share with the wider community?

How to share a pattern with the MQSeries.net Community
1) Grab a copy of the latest fixpack for WMB V7 and use the Pattern Authoring editor to create your pattern.
2) Export the pattern as .patternzip file; this is a self-contained installable file.
3) Send an email (or PM) to one of the WMB Patterns Repository forum admins, asking to upload your pattern. Please note that planned turnaround time for the upload can be up to 10 days depending on the level of spam and offending material avoidance checking to be performed as well as our own other workload. Include the pattern name, a brief description of what it does and any additional requirements (e.g. WMB product version, extra software needed).
That's it! The pattern will appear over on the WMB Patterns Repository Forum and a corresponding thread on the WebSphere Message Broker Support forum started, which will allow the community to download, use, appreciate and comment on your work.

Rules for pattern submission
There are a few rules for submitting patterns; hopefully nothing too controversial but please do make sure that whatever you submit conforms to the following rules:
- Create the patterns only using the Pattern Authoring tools in WMB V7. Code snippets, advice and other solutions that aren't patterns don't really fit here, but are more than welcome over in the WebSphere Message Broker Support forum.
- In the spirit of sharing and openness, include source artefacts for your solutions. People tend not to trust compiled code that doesn't include corresponding source!
- Requesting for an upload of demo versions of paid-for commercial patterns is fine, so long as you specify this in the description.
- On the other hand, patterns that provide no value (including spam or offensive content) isn't fine, and will cause your pattern to be removed.
- You declare your full approval of the submitted pattern to be made available for use by the community and MQSeries.net.
- You declare that the pattern belongs to you and no other individual or organization has any ownership or copyrighted claim relating to the submitted pattern.
- As your pattern will be hosted on MQSeries.net servers, the decision over what patterns are accepted lies with the site Administrators and selected other Subject Matter Experts whose decision is final.

Before downloading patterns
- Patterns are provided "as-is". You download and use patterns at your own risk; MQSeries.net doesn't assume any liability for patterns you've downloaded.
- It's good practice to check out the pattern's thread on the WebSphere Message Broker forum to see other people's experiences with the pattern. To help you decide what's useful, each pattern has a recommended rating in the "Community Feedback" section next to the download link.
- This doesn't affect the support given to the pattern; if a pattern has a defined statement of support, this will be described in the pattern's documentation.

More information on patterns
There are a lot of resources on the web for creating patterns and using the editor.
- Patterns in the WMB Information Center: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wmbhelp/v7r0m0/topic/com.ibm.etools.mft.doc/ac67850_.htm
- An Introduction to Patterns in WMB: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/websphere/library/techarticles/0910_philliips/0910_phillips.html
- Also, feel free to ask questions over in the WebSphere Message Broker forum.

And finally
The patterns community is only as good as the patterns available. If something's not there that you'd like to see, write a pattern and make it better! Contribute your patterns, get involved and have fun!
