Hi guys,

Am new with MQ.But I tried constructing the one-way SSL authentication from the redbooks. Fortunately the example ran to my toolkit and MQ. Now i'm on a dilemna i only got a .cer file from our server is there a way i can attach this as a signer certificate? To be called by my MQ? I can't get it to work.

Thanks,
GiN

i can add it to my signer certificate but i can't make it to work am having a handshake SSL error. Sorry for the confusion. In my understanding we need to create a personal signer(for the queue manager) and from this certificate add it to the JKS file (for the toolkit). But since i only got a .cer file i can't have a handshake on the SSL dsnce the signer certificate is different from the personal signer. Is there a way i could have this to work?

Thanks for the help.

If you are dealing with self signed certs, you need to have both certs in both stores...

This can be cumbersome if you have a lot of qmgrs or clients.
You might want to look into CA signed certs,... to start you off with, search over the posts in this forum... there should be a reference to an excellent pdf that guides you step by step and tells you how to become your own CA.

At that point all you need is your own cert and the CACert in your store.

Look also at all the security oriented support packs and their documentation... I believe you will also find excellent references (urls) in the infocenter's documentation reference, in the security manual...

Have fun
