any help is highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Poorna

Hi Poorna,

I was working with MQ v2.2.0.1 a lot of time and I've yet tried the new v5.1. But we are always using mqm group (and mqm.manager user) for all MQ administration stuff. This recommended by IBM , I think.

Hi Tibor,
Thanks for your prompt reply. Seems i did not have put the problem correctly. Well, I have a sample java programm which does connects to QManager and puts a message in queue. when i run this program by logging in as MQM.MANAGER it's working fine. where as if i run the program by logging in as SUPER.SUPER it's giving a error saying not authorised. for that purpose, i have created a principal mqm1 for super.super by using altmqusr command.
still the problem exists. By the way after creating this new principal do i need to specify this any where.
Thanks,
Poorna

Hi Poorna,

Problem is coming from MQ authorisation handling, because queue mananeger is caching security infos. Restarting your qmgr will solve this error, IMO.

But this is an uncomfortable thing... but there is a last chance, maybe. Try the REFRESH SECURITY command from runmqsc. This is known from v5.2 on other platforms, but v5.1 is newer release on Tandem (or NSK) than v5.2.

Last question: why want to execute an application under SUPER.SUPER?

Hi Tibor,

we resolved the problem by giving permissions at Qmanager level(using altmqusr command and setmqaut command).

we are having some programs which should run my users belongs to groups other than mqm.
i was just trying to give the permissions to super.super.

Thanks,
Poorna.
