A new app of ours will be running under WAS (Websphere). It reads from MQ and writes do DB2.

To take advantadge of the XA benefits I noticed a few things, please correct me if I am wrong.

1) There is need to create JMS providers on WAS or the application may do direct JSM connections to MQ? The beta version is doing explicit JMS connections, nothing is defined on WAS.

2) If I need to define the resources on WAS, so my app will lookup for it, why WAS forces that every queue I need to access need to be explicitly defined on the WAS-JMS config tool?

3) Following question #3, is there a workaround to just define a queue manager instead of each particular queue? Right now we have few queues, but in a few months it may grow to hundreds.

4) Code: how the lookup and JSM connection open will look like?

5) Any book/pointers that explain this I would appreciate.
