Our implementation partner is floating around the idea of replacing our IIB implementation with Apache Service Mix. I have no experience with Apache Service Mix. On reading about it a little bit, it looks like very intensive coding and i dont believe it has a graphical UI like toolkit. Can you share your thoughts on APache Service Mix comparison to IIB.

i believe the pitch is along the lines of cost saving.

just tried a sample online, this isn't anywhere near the capability of what broker can do. I mean the ease with which we can do things in broker i mean. Maybe it has features to do things.

If it's a question of "cost savings", then get a detailed breakdown of costs associated.

Like
  1. Product cost
  2. Migration Cost
  3. Developer Training cost
  4. Code migration cost
  5. Testing cost
  6. Support Cost
  7. Adminstrator training
  8. Ongoing maintenance
  9. Server reliability
  10. etc etc etc

Usually "cost savings" means "cost for software purchase", not any of the other factors.

You don't need to get the information. Just ask the question.

Eventually the question should get high enough that someone who can make the decision will think about them.
