We are in process of integrating legacy (OS/390) apps with PeopleSoft 8.4.
EAI tool of choice is WebsphereMQ/WMQI.
Does anyone have live implementation of above?
What extra software used (Tuxedo/MQ bridge, PeopleSoft adapter from IBM, etc)?
Development issues, configuration, performance, DRP - any bit of information will be greatly appreciated.

TIA, George.

Though I have not seen any implementations, have proposed to couple of clients. You may like to buy some standard adapters available in the market. You can check Crossworld adapters (Have been acquired now by
IBM and been promoted by them)

Actually, we have now done it twice... The first version uses peoplesoft messaging and implements a gateway. It works acceptably except that Peoplesoft Messaging has some issues (messages stacking up any time there is an error etc.) So we did a second interface in which Messages are dumped out to a seperate table using a scheduled query, then we poll that table for messages and deliver them to their destinations.

Note there is nothing particularly MQSI related about either solution.

Hopefully the PeopleSoft Messaging will/has become more reliable.

Thank you, Martin and Atavar

We are planning to use PS application messaging gateway as well. And Combine it with message transformation from XML to COBOL structures via WMQI.

Martin: Do you transfer data from MQ to Peoplesoft via developed "in-house" listener/adapter? What is message workload (typical size/rate) that you handle?

Thanks again, George.

I am also involved in an upgrade to Peoplesoft 8.4 and will be using MQ for the first time to integrate PS with other legacy apps.

Would also be curious to understand whether you 'hand-crafted' an adapter or used a 3rd party adapter.
