I have a cluster of two computers (computer A and B). On computer B, I defined a cluster queue called BBB, which is visible on computer A. I am running a client on computer C, which I tried unsuccessfully to connect to the queue BBB via the queue manager on computer A. I get the an error from MQOPEN and a failed code of 2085. Is it possible for the MQOpen to open a cluster queue? My suspicion answers Yes. So my question is how to have MQOPEN connect to a cluster queue (BBB)?

I am using win2k and v.5.2.1. my client is written in VB.

Thanks.

Are you opening this queue for putting or getting? If you are trying to open it for MQGETs, it would seem to me that your client would have to connect to computer B, even though the queue is clustered, because you can only GET from a local queue. You should be able to connect to C and MQPUT to BBB though.

Can we try to refine the problem?

Can you try to open a local queue (not cluster) and see if it works. If it does not, you might have a configuration problem with your client.

Can you try to open the cluster queue with the API exerciser and see if it works. If it does, you might have a coding problem.
