Dear all,

I need to connect between Siebel and SAP R/3 via WebSphere Integrator.
Does anybody have an experience in it?

Hi Johnny,

Siebel provides in built support for MQSeries. Siebel has a MQSeries Server Receiver component which can be configured to poll a particular queue. This component can be configured to forward incoming documents to a Siebel Workflow.

However, you must ensure that the incoming documents are as per the Siebel Format.

MQSeries Link for R/3 is the MQSeries Connector for SAP.

Transformation from the SAP format to Siebel could be done by MQSI. (i dont know exactly how)

HTH.

Regards,
VJ

Hello, VJ,

Great information.
It was a good guideline for me.
Thank you for that.

Johnny,

This integration will work fine. You will have to be careful regarding the size of messages going to/coming from SAP. This can be large in size and will take a signifcant amount of time to be processed within Integrator. There are ways of optimizing message throughput, but it would be best to get principles and best practices together at the start of the project. See the support pac website for some reference material.

Hope this helps...

Kieran

Thank you, Kieran.

Unfortunately , my working environment doesn't have both R/3 and Siebel yet but CrossWorlds. Thus I'm now collecting information about related topics as much as I can for my future developments.

My current problem is that I have never seen CrossWorlds running on real environments. (I can hardly imagine it.)

I want to practice real procedures for implementation throgh given samples.

J.YAMA.

P.S.
Kieran, how were you impressed with CrossWorlds? How was it?
How did you study 'Collaboration Templates'?
