hai all

i wish to send my message in xml format so that the receiving application can process it easily using a parser. Is there any provision in MQ Series to send the message in xml format? or can we send the message as a Text Message with its message body containing message in the xml format?

Please advice!!!!!

I have read that MQSeries supports XML natively... The funny thing about this statement is that MQSeries' support of XML simply means that you can place XML in the data field of your message, and you'll get XML out on the other end, simply because MQSeries will treat it as a string
So, feel free to place XML within your messages and rest assured you'll get XML on the other end. As far as parsing goes, you'll have to do that in your application. MQSeries' XML support doesn't go this far...

Lets remember the purpose of MQSeries.... it is to reliably move data from one application or system to another. MQSeries is data agnostic. It doesn't care what is in the payload of the message. Since, by definition, XML is pure character text, it makes sense to move XML data as a string.

IBM's WMQI product takes the story to the next level - interpretation, transformation, routing and activity based upon the data content.

That's what I meant in my post. Just didn't come out as eloquently...
