Hi All,

I am writing a program which uses MQ and DB2.

In the program MQ CONNECT , OPEN and GET calls are successful.

But while doing the MQ COMMIT or MQ CLOSE it is giving SOC4 abend. There is no MQ REASON code.

While searching in the web i found out this thing:"if
the unit of work affects both MQ resources and resources belonging to
other resource managers (for example, DB2), the SRRCMIT call provided
by the z/OS Recoverable Resource Service (RRS) should be used. The
SRRCMIT call commits changes to resources belonging to the resource
managers that have been enabled for RRS coordination."

I dont have any idea about SRRCMIT call.
Any ideas about this will be helpful.

Hi,

First off, what in the world does your question have to do with WebSphere MQ Everyplace?? Since, I see 'SOC4', I take it that you have a mainframe MQ question - hence post your question in an appropriate MQ mainframe forum next time (and yes there is one here).

Secondly, a 'SOC4' was most likely caused by either incorrect parameters or incorrect number of parameters to your MQ call (MQCMIT or MQCLOSE).

Third, you are not supposed to use MQCMIT with MQ and DB2. Read the MQ manuals.

Fourth, how in the world do you not know about SRRCMIT if you have done DB2 before? Read the DB2 manuals.

Regards,
Roger Lacroix

Hi Roger,

Sorry for posting the message in wrong forum.Since i am new user i have very little idea about this forum.

I am facing a very strange problem in MQ GET call.

The value for MQ-CONN-HANDLE and QUEUE-OBJECT-HANDLE
is getting changed after MQGET.

This is the reason behind the SOC4 abend.
Do u have any idea about the value getting chnaged?
