Hi,

You should read some of the WMQ documentation. There are 4 types of queues:
- local queue
- remote queue
- alias queue
- cluster queue.

A local queue is a queue within the queue manager that you are connected to. It holds messages and you can get or put messages to a local queue.

A remote queue is a pointer to local queue in a different queue manager. A remote queue does not hold messages. You can only put to a remote queue.

You can read about the other 2 queue types in the WMQ manuals.

Hope that helps.

Sorry Roger you forgot a 2 more types, I am sure it was unintentional:

The MODEL queue
The TEMPORARY queue (this is really more of a subtype)..
