Hello,
I am still a fresher in the field of MQSeries. I have a particular situation at hand and I am supposed to decide whether solution to this is feasible.
There is a web-application running on a Solaris 2.6 on IBM Websphere 3.5.3 Standarad Edition. The datasource for this application is a DB2 6.1.0 database residing on a OS/390 machine. There are 2 options available for the suggested communication between SOlaris and OS/390 to take place :
1. DB2 Connect
2. MQSeries
Let us concentrate on the MQSeries option.
I would like to know as to how this application can be structured so as to include MQSeries as a middleware between Solaris and OS/390. The web application would be able to put a message on to a queue. But how is the mainframe going to get the message from the queue, perform the required database operation and send a message back to a queue.
I am not sure if I have been able to present the issue properly. Please feel free to get back to me in case of any clarifications.
