I am running MQSI 202 on NT on a 2 CPU Intel box. We did some performance testing by running a batch of messages through MQSI. We took down the elapse time for the batch to complete with the message flow in a single execution group. When we have the flow in 2 execution groups, the elapse time is about half. We then add the flow to a 3rd execution group, the time does change much (less than 5% reduction). I think we have the 2 CPUs fully utilized with the 2 execution group. We cannot turn on additonal incidence until we have time to fix a known problem within the flow.
We were just wondering if there will be a big difference running a flows in two execution group vs running a flow in a single execution group with additional incidence =1.

Running the same message flow in two execution group will consume more memory than the other option (setting additional instance=1) as each EG is a seperate process. If you don't have any memory limit then this option gives best throughput.

We achieved almost 2 times more throughput by setting additional instance=1 for a message flow. However, the difference between these two options was not be very big. We achieved around 10% performance gain by deploying a copy of the message flow to 2 execution groups as compared to setting additional instance to 1.
