Hello ,
I have to set security authority for Windows NT qmgr . I gave -g option as username@DOMAIN but its giving error that principal and group name is invalid . Please let me know the correct parameter to be used .

You have to use -p instead of -g. -g is for assiging authorities to groups. And you are trying to assign it to a principal.

Ok, There are few more hints to resolve the problem.
Do you have this principal username@DOMAIN an authorised user on this system or not. If not, then you cannot add this user to the queue manger using setmqaut. Each user to whom you want to grant access to be able to use your queue manager/objects on your wkstn, MUST be first added to the userdatabase. This is done using the Admin tools. Also you need to add this user to the mqm group to be able to perform all the operations. Then you have to use the setmqaut command to set appropriate authorities to speicific objects or even the queue manager. Remember, just adding this user to the mqm group does NOT authenticate the user to access your qm and objects of this qm.
Hope this helps.
Also could you please paste the exact command and error message, if the above does not help you.
