HI
We have running mq on sun cluster 2.2 and when we switch the logical drive
we stop the MQ ( we use MC69) and then when we switch back the logical drive we have server panic...
But after we switch the logical drive and then stop the cluster and reboot the node ..start the cluster and then switch the drive the server wont panic.

So is there any way we can shutdown MQ to clear all the seamophores ???

All help is much appreciated.

I have a semiphore cleanup script I use in these situations on our Solaris and AIX servers. If you send me your e-mail I will forward you a copy.

Ok, but going back to the original semaphore problem, I think it's worth it to double check your kernel settings; do they match what is recommended from IBM? We once had lots of problems with regards to semaphores on a particular QMGR until we increased the file descriptors setting. Our first knee jerk reaction was to write a cron to clear semaphores in the early mornings.
