Are there any available (commercial or otherwise) COM, COM+, or better yet, ActiveX interfaces around that expose the full MQ API functionality for applications running on the Windows 2000 environment?

You mean, other than the ones that come with WebSphere MQ?

Well yes/no. I couldn't find any good documentation on using MQ from VBScripting (which needs a COM/ActiveX interface).

ALL I have is the IBM redbook on MQ 5.1

Maybe a good CBT would help. Can you recommend any?

Is there any reason why you would not go with MQ 5.3 and the .NET API?
You will have to check up on the latest CSDs (CSD07) and possibly on fixes beyond.

Hope this helps you some.

You want the current 5.3 manual called "Using the Component Object Model Interface".

Or the .Net manual loaded with CSD05 of 5.3.

Did you look at WebSphere MQ Using the Component Object Model Interface manual?

There is a sample program (html page) you can find at <wmq_home>\Tools\mqax\Samples\HTML\mqaxtriv.htm location.

Quote:

This sample demonstrates the use of the WebSphere MQ Automation Classes for ActiveX to call WebSphere MQ from an HTML page, using code written in VBScript or JavaScript.

Well, thanks for the answers. Some questions:

Where can one find "WebSphere MQ Using the Component Object Model Interface"? Is it on the CDs?

I can't use .Net, as we need to automate via scripting (VBScripting) on Windows 2000. We don't use .Net.

Finally, are there any decent CBTs, with examples, on doing this out there?

You can download the manual from,
