Hi All,
I have two questions.
1) We have Oracle DB, MQClient on Win2K machine and my MQServer on Win2K/Solaris machines. So is it possible to have two phase commit, i.e when i put a message in queue and updations in my DB at my client in a single UOW. If possible, please give the details.

2) Is it possible to do MQ ftp from MQclient?.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Poorna.

When using the MQClient, the ability to coordinate database updates in the same logical unit of work with the queue manager is the one major difference between connecting as a client and being server bound. You can NOT coordinate a distributed transaction from an MQClient.

What is MQ ftp?

sorry it's not MQ ftp. it is file transfer by reference message. is it possible in client-server architecture.

MQSeries Planning guide says we can not use MQ Queuemanager as transaction co-ordinator to do Two-phase commit for Win2000 + Oracle situation. Then how do i achive Two-phase commit. can iuse MTS for this purpose, or any other free software available.
please help.

MQSeries Server can be used as a transaction coordinator with XA Compilaint database which Oracle is at some version.

See Chapter 4 of the MQSeries System Admin
http://publibfp.boulder.ibm.com/epubs/html/amqzag02/amqzag02tfrm.htm

This explains how to set it up.
