The position involves working on RBC Dainâ€™s Servicelink application developed for our operations desktop. You'll help install, configure and maintain UNIX systems to maximize reliability and recoverability.

Your work will focus on infrastructure and enterprise wide projects where you'll research, design/architect, implement and support/manage current and new technologies.

There's more. You'll also play a key role in analyzing, recognizing and troubleshooting problems with UNIX server hardware and application software. In addition, we'll look to you to establish and document standards and procedures for management review. Detect, diagnose, and report on all UNIX and application related problems with servers.

Major Job Accountabilities

-Install, Configure, Manage, Update and Monitor operating systems, shell programming, making file system modifications, and analyzing machine and operating system performance

-Contribute and implement the storage and backup solution for the location in accordance with internal IT organizations

-Design, configure and administer applications in support of IS projects.

-Designing/executing or automating required backend maintenance work & system measurement; and generating/tracking consistent metrics, reports, info/communications to upper mgmt & the company on status/issues/plans.
-Provide off hours on call support as business lines needs and technologies dictate.

What does it take? To qualify, you should have:

-Minimum 2 - 3 years of hands on experience in an administrative role including design, installation, management and troubleshooting of IBM MQSeries and WorkFlow. Knowledge of IBM Websphere Application Server a plus.

-Knowledge of banking/financial industry

-Working knowledge of UNIX Administration, UNIX shell scripting to control program execution, UNIX hardware/ software installation

-Knowledge of TCP/IP Protocol

-Strong analytical and customer service skills.

-Performance monitoring and diagnostic skills for UNIX and web applications a plus.
