I am passing in an ini file using the -i parameter on the java call
and MQe_Explorer does not open this ini file at start up. I would like
to have it open this ini at start or at least have the File->Open pull down
default to the path to this ini file so the user could select it to start.

Should this work?

Thanks, Tom

I havent come accross a way to get this done. May be its not possible. But again, the whole purpose of MQe and even MQe_explorer is to make things as light as possible and may be this is the reason this is not possible. But you should be able to open the ini file after your MQe_Explorer has started.

It doesnt seem to store the last accessed path etc. which is what you seem to point to. But from my experience whenever you start MQe_Explorer, it always points to the same directory location that was last accessed and which usually would be the one that has the ini files. Moreoever since all the ini files are suggested to be kept at only one location, it would be just one directory to remember.

So to summarise an answer for your question. I dont know if this is possible or not. I think you want something like a default QM that should come up each time you start MQe_Explorer. But we do have the other approach to get around this, which is manual though.

By the way how are you passing in -i to the jvm. I couldnt find any "-i" option.

Cheers
Kumar

In the WebSphere MQ Everyplace for Multiplatforms - MQe_Explorer, User Guide: Version 2.011, Nov 2003, MQe_Explorer.pdf, page 112:

Discusses the invocation parms of: -o, -i, and -s. The -i does not seem
to work. This guide is in the es02.zip support PAC.

Try /i instead of -i
