fOlks..

When i try to setup a cluster with two QMGRs in two different machines, I get an error at the las tstep saying that probably the command server in the other end is not running or it's not responding within the time out period. I tried the same in 4 different machines, but still I have not succeeded in setting upa cluster. I am trying out from the UI provided for the Windows NT/2000 platforms.

what could be the prob? I am stuck with this since the last few days..

are there any memory constraints? all machines I have tried with are 128 MB min. The MQ version I have is 5.2.

Should I try using the command prompt commands?
I don't know the sequenmce with which I should proceed..
help me out, Guys..

Thankx in advance

hi,
before setting up ur cluster, u should be sure that all the QManagers in the question are enabled for TCP/IP server connection.if not create them(SYSTEM.ADMIN.SVRCONN) n try.

The procedure is as following:
>Create a cluster
>add the QManagers(ensure that 2 of the QM's act as repository managers for the clusters)
>Make the required queues as memebers of the cluster.

regards,
crony

Yeah, to prove that is your problem, try creating the cluster via commands in runmqsc. If it works, then it means the problem was with your GUI tool trying to connect to the queue managers...

Hi,

the queue system.admin.command.queue has to be created and the command server has to be started on the remote server. Then the MQ Explorer can connect to the remote queue manager.

fOlks..

I have been looking into all these which you guys have suggested to look into.. but so far, nothing has turned out good for me..

may be with the info I have below, you can help me better

I have tried creating an MQ Series cluster between two NT boxes, two windows 2000 boxes and also between an NT and a windows 200 box, but all in vein.

I have NT 4.0 with service pack 6 and MQ version I have is 5.2

Most of the time, I get an error at the point where we try to create a cluster receiver channel for the remote queue manager from the local machine. Sometimes, I get "Access not authorized. You are not authorized to do this operation (AMQ4036)". But I have all AuthorizatinServices deleted from all the queue managers. Sometimes, when i try to restart my queue manager, I get error in the MMC (Microsoft Management Console) there by shutting down the MQ Explorer.

What am I missing in setting up the cluster?
Guys, help me out.. it's been sometime I am stuck in this..

How do I enable the remote conenction acceptance of a queue manager? Is there something specific to be done?

please help me out..
thankx in advance

Hi,

maybe this does not help, but I run into strange error when configuring MQSeries with the GUI. If I had configured each server locally with the commandline interface everything worked fine.

I use MQSeries 5.1/5.2 on WindowsNT 4.0 with Service Pack 4 and 6a and on Solaris 2.6 and 8.
