Hi,
I created queue manager qm1 in my machine and
qm2 in remote machine(allowing remote administrating and checking server connection channel).
Then I tried to create a new cluster with QM2 as the primary repository specifying the connection name in the following format
ipaddress[port number] and the remote queue manager was running.
But it was not able to identify the queue manager. But I was able to ping the remote machine .
What is the problem? I trying so hard.

Thanks
Shankar

You "cannot" create a "primary repository"(i guess you mean full repository) remotely. At least the way you are trying to. You need to issue "alter qmgr repos(<cluster name>) from within the queue manager that you wish to make a full repos qm, which i assume in your case is qm2.

Once done, qm2 becomes full repository.

Now, just pinging to a remote system doesnt mean everything is fine as far as communication is concerened. What you must do is define a clusrvr on your local qm, qm1. Then define clussdr pointing to qm2. And you are all set to use the cluster.

All this, assuming that you have started your listener etc.

Also, when you mentioned your problem you never were explicit as to what was your problem???

Cheers
Kumar
