Scenario 1:

QM1 and QM2 – both members of cluster C1 . Messages m1, m2,m3 to be sent from QM1 to QM2.

Scenario 2:

QM1 and QM2 – both members of clusters C1 and C2. Messages m1,m2 being sent from QM1 to QM2 in C1. m3 being sent from QM1 to QM2 in cluster C2.

Question:

How is the network bandwidth allocated for conversations between QMgrs? In above scenarios, assuming all to be of same priority, and order of sending to be m1,m2,m3 – in scenario 2, m3 would be on par with m1 and m2 as far as bandwidth allocation goes…..

The reason being that for scenario 2, we would have separate pair of MCAs for C2 and BW would be equally shared amongst all conversations....

I do this for my queue mangers that house MQSI. I have 2 clusters on top of each other, each with their own channels.

Cluster1 has its channels set to NPMSpeed of FAST. Cluster2 has its channels set to NPMSpeed of NORMAL.

When a new application comes up, I place its queues on both QMs, and then set the cluster attribute to the proper cluster. Works fine.
