Running MQ totally on Solaris - hub server and satellites. Would like to use MQ Client or MQ everyplace on some file servers (running Windows NT) to replace 'ftp' to/from the hub server. With not much NT coding experience in-house we are wondering what languages are available on Windows to do get/put and what is the best type of MQ product to put on NT (CLient or MQ Everyplace).

From my point of view, I would install MQeveryplace servers on NT boxes because of the very low weight of the solution on such platforms (approx. 64 Ko overhead), a MQe server on your Solaris hub (for communications between Solaris and NT(s) and communication between MQe (on NT) with MQ. You can use that with for synchronous or asynchronous exchange but if you are talking about ftp, I think you're are looking more for asyncronous communications. Using MQ client, one of the prerequesite is the availibility of the network between NT and Sun so...
About langages, on NT, you can use java for the MQe API or even VB ou ActiveX but on Sun you would have to use only java (it's not a shame on a Sun platform !)
Hope this can help you .
