Hi,

Where can i find the changes or advantages of release NNSY 5.6 which comes with WQMI2.1
over the old version neon 5.2?
Just trying to find out whether it is worth migrating from MQSI2.0.2 to WMQI2.1

Any help is appriciated.

Thanks,
ravi

Hi,

I don't know much about the NNSY enhancements
in 2.1 over 2.0.2. You should probably check
Sysbase's NNSY webpages for the changes.

On the non-NNSY side there is so much new
good stuff like:

- rewritten MRM parser to allow for tagged&delimited formats like EDI,SWIFT,CSV
which you previously needed NNSY nodes for
(also DATE and DECIMAL primitive data types)
[This parser will also allow you to parse SAP IDOCs in one go using the tagged parser.]
- Input-Node plugin interface allows you to write your own input-nodes to start a flow (you can now use any communication meens to transfer a message into WMQI)
- Java plugin-interface
- new ESQL enhancements like tree-references (the are like pointers), a global environment for persistent storage of values thoughout the whole flow of a message, a propagate function which allows you fire off multiple messages from one compute node and
basically makes external looping (which eventually would bust your stack in pre 2.1) obsolete, finally a BLOB to CHAR conversion

just to mention a few new things which I think make it more than desirable to upgrade to 2.1
In terms of funcionality 2.1 opens new and
easy paths to solve problems which were
very hard to do with 2.0.2.
